Stefany Valderrama is a bilingual anchor and general assignment reporter for CBS12 News. She joined the team in January 2020.

Before moving to South Florida, Stefany was a reporter and fill-in anchor for WSPA-TV in Greenville, South Carolina, covering upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina. While in Greenville, Stefany worked on covering the state’s crumbling infrastructure, but her favorite story was “Bone Marrow for Maci.” Through Stefany’s reporting, Maci, a 1-year-old, was able to find a perfect match donor and undergo bone marrow transplant surgery, giving Maci another chance at life.

Stefany started her career in Augusta, Georgia, working at WJBF-TV covering the CSRA and Aiken County. While reporting in Augusta, Stefany was nominated and won an AP Award for ‘Small Market: Best Spot News’ reporting alongside her photographer for their coverage of an EF-2 Tornado that wreaked havoc on the small town of Johnston, South Carolina.

Stefany graduated from Georgia Southern University, in Statesboro, Georgia, with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Spanish. A few years after graduating, Stefany helped start the “MMJ For a Day” program at the university for students to participate in a newsroom setting and work alongside professionals in the industry. This program has helped launch the careers of many students from producers to on-air talent.

Since joining CBS12 News, Stefany has extensively covered the pandemic, even putting herself through a vaccine trial, in hopes of providing viewers with more clarity about the process of vaccine studies.

Stefany was voted ‘employee of the week’ by her coworkers in January of 2023, due to her hard work, and focus on accuracy and fairness.
